What is the Anderson County Watershed Protection Council?

The Anderson County Watershed Protection Council — also referred to as the Anderson Water Council — is a volunteer advisory committee working to assist nonprofit organizations Savannah Riverkeeper and Upstate Forever in identifying, prioritizing, and funding projects that empower citizens to take action on existing and emerging threats to water resources and to restore water quality in areas of the Savannah River watershed impacted by Kinder Morgan’s 2014 petroleum pipeline spill.

 

How do I apply for grant funding?

Eligible entities may apply for individual grant awards ranging between $10,000 to $50,000 for education and outreach and up to $100,000 for site remediation and land protection grants in the impacted area. Read the RFP here. To be considered for funding, applications and related documents must be submitted to info@andersonwatercouncil.com. Submissions must include this completed application, as well as the supporting documents (8) listed in Section 8 of the application.

Note: Grant submissions are now accepted on a rolling basis.
